Well, I haven't spotted anything in the news or paper that would suggest that people properly remember what went down in the Industrial Sector. What with Garou killing each other in the street, exploding cars, and dead skull-faced Crinos. Everything seems to have been written off as a particularly nasty squabble between two Gangs, with the use of large attack dogs. Everyone seems happy with that story and the fuss around the incident is already dying down. Thank Gaia.
Quin and Nadia have done their jobs beautifully. No evidence is showing up where it could cause the locals trouble and the Crinos-Body has disappeared. I really should figure out where those are getting stashed at some point.
I've made the claws and teeth I took in too three necklaces. One with all the teeth (The canines and the little teeth from the front of the mouth), one with the toe-claws, and one with the finger-claws. I've just strung them together on lengths of leather. Seems appropriate. They certainly look rather neat. Kinda like that Tribal jewellery that is popular in some circles. Still haven't the slightest idea as to what I am going to do with the things. I'm certain that I'll think of something, eventually.
I dropped by the Shadow Lord place, just to check up on that cubbie from the street fight. Doesn't seem to be a BSD cub and the Uglies didn't have him in their possession for overly long. Both of which are good things. If it was a BSD kid, the chances of more Uglies coming here and looking for the guy. From the bit of info I managed to get out of the kid, I suspect that the BSDs came across him by chance, more than anything else. So, we're not likely to be seeing a huge in flux of them, or anything. Still, the kid seems to have one hell of a fucked up history.
Seems he went and Firsted awhile back, but managed to do it without killing anyone. It was just him and his older sister, since the parents had bit the bullet in an accident and the older sister was named his guardian. So, he'd been acting like some werewolf out of the movies. Hiding in the basement during the big moons. And then things went to hell, the sister ended up dead and the kid has been living like a hobo ever since.
Damn. I'm so glad that I'm one of Raven's Kids. Spirit Eggs just make so much more sense.
I made a point of swinging by the Women's Shelter, just to see how they were getting along. I used to see them fairly regularly as a beat cop, but I have to make time to do it these days. But, low and behold, I encountered Laila there. The woman that sparked that fight, that resulted in me getting stabbed. I was actually kinda surprised to see her at the Women's Shelter. Even more surprised to find out that she actually is Wolf-Kin. I just figured that Nik was thinking of some other woman names Laila. I mean, it's not the most common of names, but I figured that the chances had to be pretty slim. Welp, guess I was wrong.
Long story short. I tried too play nice. She made cranky faces at me. Showed absolutely no guilt at having sparked a brawl that could have turned deadly. Said I should have stayed out of the whole thing, as the two guys involved deserved whatever was coming to them. Also told me to keep my yap shut, if I ever say her doing something stupid again, while giving me evil looks. Geeze. She is no idea how lucky she is, that I left her name and description out of my report. Geeze. She also claimed to avoid getting involved in Garou things, due to the danger often involved. Which means that she probably just goes around making trouble, with that cranky attitude of hers.
Got a voice message from Nick, saying that he'd met with Charley and that everything had gone swimmingly. He also wants to come over to my place to poke at things and have Charley practice hiding what he is from my Tricks. Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me... Particularly since Charley is going to be surrounded by wolves and you never know when one of them is going to decide to rip your head off, for whatever reason. Even the ones that aren't all that bad, are really scary fucks sometimes. I honestly don't know how their Kinfolk put up with them, half the time.
Went out and picked up this wicker basket Tuesday night and headed out in to the woods. Parked the basket about a half-mile from a gas station and started making trips too and from the Bawn, returning with a couple pieces of Bramblefruit each time. Kept this up until the sun started to fade, then called it a night. Ended up with Fourteen pieces of fruit. Covered'em up with a sheet. Walked back to the Gas Station (my poor arms) and called a cab, which took me home. Got the Bramblefruit stashed in my apartment right now. All set and ready for Nick's juicer.
