After the whole fiasco in the park, I sent off some text messages to Nik and Salem, since they seem to be the ones in charge of most of the city wolves. I also made a point of heading out in to the woods the next day, to let April in on the news. She's a Fury. Not the one in charge of that group, that is someone called Melodie, but I don't know how to find that one. Anyway, I got that out of the way, went back in to the city and returned to work.

Work went all right. Other then the mountain of paperwork that I was dealing with, concerning the 'film shoot' in the park before. I really hate lying, but I will when there is no other way to get the job done. Just blargh.

Some poor woman was brought to the station that afternoon, having been roughed up by a couple of teens while she was out shopping. They'd stolen some electronics and her purse. While she was pretty shaken up, the teens hadn't done more than give her a few bruises and scare her half to death. Since the poor woman was all twitchy, I offered to take her home after she gave a statement. So, I grabbed one of the squad cars and drove her home - which happened to be right along the highway.

I dropped the woman off and was about to head back to the station, when I got a call from Flint. Ky had found some new wolves and needed me to run interference, as one of the newbies had gone and called 911. Oh fuckity fuck. Did they need a lift? Yes. Fuck. Turned off my phone, turned on my scanner, hit the sirens and proceeded to drive to the location of the 911 call. I managed to get there a whole five fucking minutes before any other cars. Shit. Called in on my radio and said that I was on scene, but there was no evidence of a victim or a perp. But, there were signs of a struggle and that I was going to drive around the area and see if I could spot any suspicious activity. Loaded Ky and two new wolves in to the cruiser - thank god they were not bleeding everywhere, and screamed out of the area like a bat outta hell.

The two kids in the back seat woke up before I got them as far as Edgewood - Ky had beat the pair of them senseless before I'd picked them up. They two of them, were unsurprisingly, un-fucking-happy. I was trying really fucking hard to try and strike up a conversation with the pair and get them to settle the fuck down, but Ky wouldn't keep his yap shut and the girl in the back started kicking my seat and just... I thought I was going to burst a vein. Wanna see a Corax Frenzy? God. I think I actually came damn close. I even managed to get the duo in the back to settle a bit, then Ky went and opened his mouth again. You know, when you tell someone to SHUT THE FUCK UP, you think they'd get the hint, wouldn't you?

We made record time to Edgewood and Ky hopped out and started howling for someone.  I left the two in the car and got out to report in. Needless to say, people wanted to know where the fuck I was. I made up a story about having a flat and added in some convincing car sounds. Yay for Mimic! And then I spotted the girl setting herself up to try and kick out the squad car window! Argh! So I opened up the door and the girl bolted. Ky, all covered in fur, kept her from getting more then ten feet. The boy got out at a more sedate pace. Was so glad to get get them out of the car.

And then the girl Frenzied and some wolf dropped out of the sky and landed on her. I think it was Jacinta. Then the boy Frenzied and Ky shifted in to Crinos. Oh god. oh god. I couldn't get out of the area fast enough. I threw myself in to the squad car and screamed out of there as fast as I could. Normally, I would have just flown out of range, but I wasn't about to leave the squad car behind.

I drove within a few miles of the original 911 call, pulled off to one side of the road and punctured one of the tires. Climbing back in to the car, I reactivated the dashboard camera - I'd turned it off on my way to pick up the cubbies. Eventually, I got a pickup and the cruiser was towed.

Boss is not pleased with me. I crossed the line in responding to the 911 call in the first place, because I'm a Detective and not a beat cop. Not to mention the fact that I didn't have a partner with me. Never answer a call without a partner. And then I left the area without waiting for backup and the whole camera thing....

I've been put on leave without pay for two weeks, as a reprimand. Which ends when the extended leave I'd arranged for, starts up. I've been squireling away money for this trip for a good long time, so a few extra weeks shouldn't hurt me any.

Hey, at least I can heal up the black eye now.
