Nick made it back to the city and after a quick phone call, we arranged to meet in the park. He seemed to be in a good mood and had no bullet holes this time. Which is a good thing. Have to admit that I worried about him some. I mean, the last time he took off for awhile, he ended up going up against the Warper equivalent of of the wolves Evil cousins, or a Buzzard, and came back with a bullet hole in his shoulder.
But, anyway, he started talking about having an interesting trip and then Thomas showed up and we had to switch topics. Told the two of them about the metal scorpion thing I'd heard about from Ky a few days earlier and Thomas mentioned a cave full of corrupted Weaver Spirits out in the woods in a cave. I have got to learn that Eyes of the Eagle gift. I mean, seriously, caves are fucking dark and I reallyreally didn't like that hallway in Plasticorp. They both left when their phones went off. Handy bits of technology, but a pain in the ass sometimes.
Also, apparently my mom called Nick and left a voice message on his phone about my Birthday. She'd promised not to call unless it was important, so I suppose my birthday counted as important to her. We're so going to have a 'talk' when I visit home next.
I'm starting to get a little tired of all the drizzling lately, but I'm certain that all the plants love it. Still, it makes for soggy feathers and uncomfortable flying. While I was doing a quick patrol, I noticed Danny in the park tossing a coin in to the Fountain. Dropped in and said hello. We had a bit of a chat, if more of a mental one, rather than a verbal one. Not being able to talk at all must SUCK. Guy had managed to bash up his thumb pretty good, so I healed that up for him and he bought me pizza in return. Yay food! Sue showed up real briefly, then took off after a quick hello and giving me his phone number. Going to have to watch that guy. What with what Thomas told me about him and his Truth Telling Trick.
Caught up with Nicodemus at his place the next day and he oggled my new motorcycle. We talked about his trip, in that he told me nothing about it at /all/. Which is more than a little annoying. But, he'll just clam up on my if I ask too many questions, Or fib. Or get all defensive. Doesn't seem to do the latter so much any more, but he was doing it a fair bit when he first came back. He's more closed than he used to be. I wonder if he even realizes this? BUT, he did show me this Mage-Bauble he'd managed to get his hands on. Apparently it will let him cross over in to the Umbra. Cool! And he wants me to come along with him. Woo! Maybe I'll get to see his flying trick. I suggested he try crossing over in the Walker-Woods. Partially because I want to know what chunk of land they've laid claim too and partially because we're not likely to run in to any wolves that might think it odd to find a Kinfolk in the Umbra. Even if he does get spotted with me, I can imply that I brought him over. I mean, there is a Trick for that, even if I don't actually know it. Plenty of other Ravens do. If the Walker place is a no-go, Lake Author is a good idea. Reasonably safe an a decent distance from the Bawn.
Warned him about Sue catching Thomas in some fibs and that Sue seemed to be the quite paranoid type in general and that he should watch himself around him. Seems Sue had already fired off a detection Gift(Probably Sense Wyrm) around Nick and that Nick'd found it rather rude.
Ended up crashing at Nick's place for the night in Raven form, since I didn't want to put him though the bother of converting his table in to a bed. Flew back in to the city the next morning and wandered back in the evening to collect my bike. Wonder if Nick took it for a spin while it was out there? Had said that he could.
Made some time and went out to collect some more Bramblefruit for Nicodemus. Didn't have too much trouble doing it, aside from one vine that managed to get ahold of my leg while I was trying to pick something that kinda looked like a pineapple. Ended up with a face-full of scratches from the thorns and a mouthful of dirt, when my legs literally got pulled out from under me. Ow. A quick shift later and I was all healed up and free. Brought another load of fruit back to my bike and went back for more, being more careful of the vines this time. Managed a couple more loads without any trouble at all. Heard a wolf at one point. It was the Black Fury named April. We talked for a short bit and I brushed off her questions as to why I was out in the Bawn in the first place. Fairly certain that she has no clue that I was collecting the Bramblefruit.
Dropped the dozen or so pieces I'd collected off at Nicodemus' place when I got a chance a couple of days later.
Poked my head in the Pool Hall real quick one evening and found Nick and Thomas there. Joined them for a talk and we discuessed the Genocidal Habits of the Garou and the fact that yes, there is such a thing as a werebear. Nick took off and Thomas asked me what was new on my end. Didn't have much to tell him, but we did talk about that some guy who has been beating on some of the local prostitutes. Thomas said that he'd keep an eye on a contact for me. She works the streets and I don't want her getting hurt.
She's not a friend or anything, but she's been a good contact and I owe her for a few choice bits of info over the years. And well, she's a good person and well... Guess I just worry about folks in general.
I'm starting to hate the rain. Was making my through Harbor Park and I saw this HUGE mountain of a map looking at a map of the city. Clearly a newcomer. I mean, geeze, I think I would have spotted someone that big by now, if he was a local. Wandered over and talked to the guy. Found out that his name was Moros - which rang some bells. A Raven-Born I know was talking about a mountain-sized Garou out around Gaia's bones eight months or so ago. Asked if he was from the same general area as the Caern and yep, he was. Did a doublecheck with Sense the Unnatural and dum-dum-dum a Jacob! Somewhere in there I managed to piss the guy off without meaning too. Which really, isn't all that hard on a Full Moon. Man, that guy is fucking scary! Still, I managed to put him in contact with one of his Tribe before making my escape. When I was a safe distance away and they were not paying me any attention at all, I snapped a quick photo with my phone and sent it to Nick.
Holy fuck, that guy is BIG.
That one day when I found Nick and Thomas chatting in the Pool Hall was a little odd. After Nick vacated to go deal with something, Thomas went and said that I act like I'm dating Nicodemus. I do?
Was dreaming about flying amid the stars last night. I really need to take Storm's-Shadow up on his offer and visit the Aetherial Realm at some point.
